Travel
We are experimenting with diverse media and methods in our research studies. For instance, recognizing the mobility of vegetal geography, we have adopted “traveling” as an approach to explore the “environment of plants.” This study designs local scenarios, and invites “travelers” ranging from scholars, artists, and content creators as an intimate community. Traveling allows us to re-examine our “nearby fields” from a mobile perspective and gain comparative insights through discussions and observations among our community “travelers”. We view the fresh perspectives gained from traveling as catalysts for exploration, which leads us to engage in a variety of practices such as sound art and exhibitions.
From this, we have launched and are currently hosting the podcast Travel with Plant South Salesroom, which features field interviews and environmental recordings from our travels. The podcast shares stories about plants, food, people, and weather, offering a unique window into the intersections of nature and culture.
